The origin of everything is always a feeling.
To catch this feeling and reveal it on a photo is like magic to me!

Thank you for showing interest in my work and my love for photography. My photos might not be flawless from a technical point of view regarding the rules of a perfect photo, but they all bear my handwriting. My photos are all very natural, they are retouched moderately but not maximum edited.
I am happy to offer a range of services, from a small private family portrait photoshoot, taking photos of your loved pet, shooting your mouthwatering and amazing looking food for your menu or the next promotion to the special ambiente of your stunning restaurant or hotel. I provide a small, medium and a large basic package. We can also discuss and find options for your more individual wishes.
Really happy with the photos Miriam took! I had some ideas, she totally transformed that to perfection. Listen, understand and then add her knowledge and ideas.
The photos were a perfect boost for my company. Will for sure use Miriam again for my next photo shooting/project. Highly recommend Miriam!!

” Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever…
It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything. “
Aaron Siskind
I was born in Indonesia and grew up in Bandung, Jakarta, Casablanca, Hong Kong and in Basel, Switzerland. Up to today, I have been through 15 moves. Most of my school time I spent in Hong Kong – beloved Hong Kong, the City of my Childhood and a place I still call home today. Being a „third culture kid“ wasn’t always easy, living far away from Switzerland and family and always loosing friends, starting all over in a new country with new languages and new cultures.
My parents, being the only consistency in life regardless where we moved to, are of the most important people in my live still today and I will forever be grateful for everything they made possible for me and my sister. Living this life also had a lot of positive aspects, we lived a life with no worries and I have people I call friends all over the world. It made me the person I am today, having difficulties to let go and to say goodbye, needing strict structures in life and always wanting to protect things and people I love, but also speaking multiple languages and being open to different cultures and being able to adapt quickly to new situations and places.
“Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling. If you can’t feel what you’re looking at, then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures.”
Don McCullin
I’m married to an Austrian Chef who has been working in Hospitality for the last 26 years and we have a small son who is the apple of my eye. We have been living in Thailand for the last 7 years – including 2 moves, and I love being an expat, Thailand is my home away from home but home will always be Switzerland, and of course I am homesick sometimes. The last city I lived in Switzerland before relocating to Thailand is Basel, I miss my friends there, going to FC Basel football games, Swiss food and the famous Swissness in general.
My family is mainly in the canton of Berne and another very important city for me is Thun -Thun is my soul city, my safe harbour. Here I have wonderful childhood memories and it’s the place for me where I only experienced happiness.
– why disclosing so much personal information
There are endless photographers out there, brilliant photographers. For me photography is something personal. I am convinced that if the person behind the camera and the person in front of the camera have a connection, you get more expressive pictures. You have to like my style, get a feeling of who I am, and what better way to do this than knowing my story.
“A portrait is not made in the camera but on either side of it.”
Edward Steichen
– what I love about photography and why I take photos
I love my horse, horseback riding, football, traveling and visiting new countries, obviously hotels, restaurants and food. Being a chef-wife in combination with photography the perfect pairing per se. I don’t see myself as a professional photographer yet, I’m learning and acquiring the know-how, but photography has always been a passion of mine and I am obsessed with, in my opinion, perfect subjects. I love taking photos of the things I love. I’m mostly fascinated of food, the atmosphere of a hotel or a restaurant, beautiful landscapes, the special vibes of a city, the mood of a particular moment and of course profound portraits. All my pictures are either raw or minimally edited at the moment, I’m still kind of fighting image editing in extreme tooth and nail, but am already slowly warming up to.
I hope to share my passion with others and I would love you to feel a little bit of me and my story when looking at my pictures. Pictures tell stories. Photos shape memories, memories are made during time, time elapses and moments have individual meanings at odd times but what always stays are memories – memories are valuable.
